“The Valentine” is a wonderful deep blue and white transferware plate from the Dr. Syntax adventures from the Wilkes Design Series. It displays a scene from domestic cottage life. Impressed by James and Ralph Clews, it was made in Staffordshire around 1818-1834 and it displays the England Cambridge mark. It is in very good condition with no chips or flakes however it does have a few light scratches on the front surface. This is a beautiful Flow Blue plate of the U.S. Capitol, designed by the William T. Adams, & Co., England in 1880. It is in good condition with a few light scratches and 3 small chips on the rim. This would make a wonderful addition of American history to your collection.
This plate is from the promotional series called “Boston Mails” steamship transportation, and was designed by James and Thomas Edwards, in 1841, Burslem, England. It has a white background, black and white transfer, ironstone, and some crazing on the edges from the display wire.
This plate has a cream colored background, sepia cartouche eagle, and flags. The back rim has 2 holes for hanging, a small crack and it is also chipped. The photograph of President Harrison is black and white and the plate is one in a series by Saarguemines (formerly Wtz Scheider & Co., 1818-1919).
